VVASA (Vail Valley Alternative Sports Academy) invites your youngsters to join their qualified instructors for group rides on the trails in and around Eagle. Participants will learn safe riding techniques, basic bicycle maintenance and the rules of the trail all while they earn their miles on singletrack and dirt pathways alike.
Concepts of environmental stewardship, trail care, sportsmanship and the resolution of user-group conflict will be explored during each session. Group rides will focus on friendship, fun and the cultivation of an appreciation and understanding of environmental ethics.
Session 1: June 13, 14, 18, 20, 25, 27
Session 2: July 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25
Session 3: August 6, 8, 13, 15
Each class session last for 3 hours and runs from 9AM-Noon
REQUIRED RIDING GEAR:

- 20” wheel mountain bike (or greater) and a bike with a triple chainring. BMX race bikes are not appropriate for this camp. Why the 20” wheels and chainring requirement? Children on smaller bikes (or bikes with single gears) are at a large disadvantage in the hilly terrain that surrounds Eagle.
RECOMMENDED RIDING GEAR:
- Hydration pack (or backpack)
- Rain jacket or shell
- Riding gloves
- Riding shorts
- Breathable (wicking) jersey and shorts
7-13 year olds. Depending on the participation, we will divide the group into like-minded and like-ability riders then tailor the course to suit preferences!
If the trails are dry, we ride.
